Description Of Situation

Description Of SituationIn our everyday lives we are often required to remember various pieces of information and perhaps dialogue which we are more than often expected to remember and act upon at a later date, relying solely on our memory to somewhat prompt us into doing so. However one of the main problems with this is that we are often caught and issued this information on the spur of the moment, which subsequently initiates a few more problems such as being caught off guard and unprepared sometimes along with the nuisance of not having the appropriate apparatus to jot down this information. As if not having enough time to take all the information in and then remembering it and actually acting upon it at a later date as promised is not enough we may interact with more than one person throughout the time of a day and may promise to get back to them which then develops a further problem of memorising all the various people with whom you may have interacted with throughout the day! Subsequently this brings us to the subject of interacting with someone perhaps in a brief conversation and the last interaction made was through the words “Call me”. We have all heard or said these 2 words more than likely with the best intentions to follow up on them. However this is sometimes easier said than done due to various contributing factors. That therefore leaves the question is there or what could be done to annihilate and remedy this everyday occurrence of forgetfulness and on occasion bad manners.

Extension Of Brief

For this project "Call Me" I've decided that I am going to base my extension of the brief around the prospect of a spur of the moment interaction between two people, whether it be concerning two friends, two business colleagues or even a random conversation between two strangers. After much thought and rationale I came up with the idea of a possible finger print recognition system in which to tackle this frequent problem of forgetting to call or text someone. Keeping in mind my brief and the notion of a spur of the moment interaction it is essential that I keep the software and technology design as straightforward and simple as possible without making it to confusing, time consuming and tedious in order for this concept to work effectively. Subsequently Ive decided to base and design my piece of technology around a mobile phone device coincided with another simple device perhaps, maybe through an ear piece of some sort. I have'nt quite pinned down what this other device will consist of yet. In keeping with this thought I have also thought about the possibility of having the hardware act in conjunction with the idea of cloud data in which information and various facts will be stored online. The simple reason as to why I chose a mobile device over other pieces of hardware being that people nowadays nearly always carry their mobile phone on them and it has now become a somewhat formality. In it's simplest form you or your friend will simply request an initial quick fingerprint scan and you will then enter your friend or colleagues details and the mobile and cloud data will do the rest in regards to storing data and information such as the time and date you interacted and even perhaps your friends details in regards to working hours and depending on internet availability even the location you were at could be stored. Eventually your mobile device will remind and prompt you to make that call or text at an appropiate time simply through the straightforward swift fingerprint scan!!

Here's my initial thought when i was issued this project "Call Me"!!
